ConocoPhillips Relationship Agreement

At ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC), we strive to positively impact communities where we operate and are committed to respectfully engaging with local Indigenous communities to better understand their values, priorities, and interests. We recognize and respect the unique history, culture, and rights of Indigenous peoples in Canada and support WLMN as a Métis organization residing next to our Surmont asset.

CPC and WLFN formalized our longstanding relationship in 2015 with the signing of our Relationship Agreement. We admire WLMN’s leadership in environmental stewardship, meaningful economic participation, and the advancement of Métis Rights. WLMN is a thoughtful and collaborative neighbour with whom CPC shares many mutual interests.

In the years to come, CPC looks forward to continuing our mutually beneficial working relationship with WLMN by supporting community priorities and capacity through meaningful conversations and actions.

Key characteristics of all our partnerships

ConocoPhillips Canada greatly values and takes pride in our Relationship Agreement with Willow Lake Métis Nation. We understand that Indigenous communities are essential partners, and our Relationship Agreement with Willow Lake Métis Nation is a testament to this. The spirit and intent of this Relationship Agreement motivates both parties to create shared value around economic opportunities and employment, while providing support to social initiatives that are important to the community.
